"what i've found is that some individuals are born with it. the rest of us, thru experience, and association to music, instruments, beer, develop relative pitch and pitch/colour recognition. more of a memory thing. for example, i can recognize and F# on piano a mile away. that came about by playing the instrument. maybe that's what the "system" develops, but in my opinion, why spend money on something that will eventually happen if you woodshed."
